DYNASTY
Dynasty is new exhibition at The World of Glass by artist Catherine Avara Sinclair, featuring 28 Drag Queens handcrafted in felt and standing sometimes three feet tall. The project started in January 2020 and Sinclair says “I have always been fascinated by the art of transformation and I see the world of drag as a pinnacle of this.”
Each model is painstakingly made using unspun sheeps’ wool. The conception of each piece begins with a face, then the design of the dress, the hair and tailor made jewellery evolves. “My aim is to en-trance the viewer just for a few moments, to glipse a reflection of the art of drag.” Says Sinclair. It is a truly magical exhibition and will run until Friday 2nd July at The World of Glass St Helens. Free admission.
