Cityscape to Landscape – Clare Flinn
This is the first time we have hosted a solo exhibition by Clare Flinn…although we have wanted to show a body of her work since she has featured in a number of open exhibitions and group shows at Editions.
Clare’s subject matter changes from portraiture to landscape to the city and buildings that are full of history. However, her preoccupations as a painter remain constant and are to do with light and colour, texture and surface marks. For this reason, her other interest is in Print-making. She comes from a family of artists but took till mid life to study a degree in Fine Art, which she has just completed at Wirral Metropolitan College, where she is currently doing a Print-making Fellowship.
Clare’s work shows an intense emotional relationship with her subject matter letting the medium describe and dictate the form and mood. It is a wonderful opportunity to see the range of her work and we hope you can join us for an exciting beginning to our year’s programme of exhibitions.
