Programme:
This beginners workshop will introduce you to the materials and tools of lino cutting before moving onto creating, cutting and printing your own design. No previous experience is required.
Catherine will show you how to approach mark-making to create depth, texture and tone along with best practice for printing. You will learn mono-printing techniques as a background on which to print as an alternative to plain white. There will be demonstrations, and an easy one colour ‘trial’ exercise before students embark on a larger scale multicolour print series.
You will have the choice to print onto A4 professional print quality paper, greetings cards and cotton fabric. This workshop is suitable for ages 16 and upwards due to sharp cutting tools.
