On the occasion of the ninth Liverpool Biennial, visitors are invited to attend a one day symposium hosted by Tate Liverpool and Liverpool Hope University. This symposium will bring together key thinkers, artists and cultural workers, to reflect critically on pressing issues raised by problems for and relations between the arts, democracy and the city in the 21st century. Key speakers will include Jen Harvie, Professor of Contemporary Theatre and Performance at Queen Mary University of London and Malcolm Miles, Professor in the School of Architecture, Design and Environment at Plymouth University.
