The ‘Crafted’ exhibition is a biennial show, presenting the work of contemporary makers from areas of contemporary craft, design, sculpture and fine art.

For the first time, ‘Crafted’ will be shown in both Kirkby Gallery and Huyton Gallery simultaneously, offering more opportunity to see some of the best contemporary design and craft from across the UK! Another special feature to this year’s exhibition is that central to the arm of the exhibition in Kirkby Gallery, are the work of ten UK designers, on loan from The Crafts Council, setting the tone for this stunning exhibition.

The exhibition in both Kirkby Gallery and Huyton Gallery also exhibits the work of 24 of the UK’s most exciting designers and makers – there truly are lots to see in this double exhibition!

Artists on show from the Crafts Council Collection include: Stephen Dixon, Michael Eden, Junko Mori, Paul Scott, Yoko Izawa, David Clarke, David Watkins, Helen Maurer, Tord Boontje and David Tucker.

Selected artists from across the UK include: Joseph Ayavaro, Kirsty Brown, Acanthus Art, Raymond Church, Helen Dolan, Chris Edwards, Lucy Elisabeth, Cherie Grist, Wayne Hart, Sarah Hill, Mandy Hills, Finest Imaginary, Sue Jackson, Tina Leahey, The Folded Page, Janine Partington, Mint Republic, Amy Ridyard, Sarah Silve, Steve Talbot, Thrashion, James & Tilla Waters, Clare Willard and Simon Wolf.

As with all of the Crafted exhibitions, all artworks are for sale and offer a range of priced works – from more affordable works through to major artworks.

To encourage our visitors to either treat themselves to a unique item or to be ahead of the game and invest in handmade gifts for Christmas, we are holding two FREE gift wrapping events in the galleries – so all purchases will be professionally gift wrapped!

The gift wrapping events will take place on:
Tuesday 2nd August in Huyton Gallery, between 1 – 4pm
Tuesday 9th August in Kirkby Gallery, between 1 – 4pm

In addition to these events, there will be a series of ‘Meet the Maker’ sessions as part of the exhibition, so if you would like to find out more about what it’s like to be an artist and learn the skills firsthand by some of our artists, contact the gallery or check the website/Facebook page for more information.
