Visit Liverpool this Friday 13th May and do something you’ve never done before. In celebration of the national Museums at Night event, Light Night Liverpool invites you into the city for an after-hours arts and culture festival!

Over 50 of Liverpool’s finest arts and culture organisations have spoilt us rotten with an exciting mix of free events and activities including exhibitions, choirs, bands, theatre, historical talks and radical walks, a candle-lit labyrinth, extravagant makeovers and Look11: Liverpool’s first International Photography Festival launch.

Some of the highlights include:

Liverpool International Carnival Launch
The streets will come alive with 100 dancers, musicians, giant costumes and puppets to launch the city’s international carnival. Starting at 5.00pm on Paradise Street (next to John Lewis)

Golden Ticket to a Radical Makeover at Peaches & Cream
Visit the Peach Fairy Godmother and nominate a loved one into the Golden Ticket prizedraw to win a makeover worth over £200. Observe the radical makeovers in the Peaches Parlour in their live art exhibition! 5pm -7pm

Craft Creative & Vintage Fair at Liverpool CUC
A radical shopping and making experience! Get crafty and discover vintage treasures including clothes, arts and crafts and much more from Pillbox Vintage. 6.00 – 10.00pm (…and afterwards enjoy A very superstitious After Show Party until 2am!)

Sense of Sound at the Anglican Cathedral
Experience the beauty of contemporary a cappella singing in a divine space. From 8pm

Candle-Lit Labyrinth at LJMU Art & Design Academy
Take a walk under the stars through the labyrinth accompanied by live music with star gazing opportunities from the university’s astrophysicists. 8.15pm – 11.00pm

Enjoy special Look11 preview events and much more across 12 sites including the Walker Art Gallery, the Bluecoat, Liverpool CUC, Baltic Creative, Open Eye Gallery and more. It’s a Call to Action for everyone to pick up a camera, take photographs and explore!

Light Night at Hope University Creative Campus
Explore a multicultural mix of music and performance including Classical Indian Dance from Milapfest, plus Indian restaurant Mayur will serve up traditionally prepared food from their Tandoor oven. 4.00 – 9.00pm

St John’s Beacon Viewing Gallery
View the panoramic skyline of Liverpool over 400 feet above the heart of the city centre, at the top of this iconic tower, and home of Radio City. (Ticketed) 6.00 – 10.00pm
