Meet the Artists
The Liverpool School of Progressive Artists is organising an event where members of the public; art lovers; potential buyers or other artists will be able to meet four of the artists whose work is featured at its ongoing exhibition at The Atkinson in Southport.
The artists featured are Mike Rickett; Gabrielle Caul; Lynn Jeffery and Maureen Sullivan who will be available to talk about their work from 2.00pm until 4.00pm on Saturday, March 7.
Mike, Gabrielle and Maureen are graduates from Liverpool Hope University and Lynn, originally from Liverpool, is one of the Liverpool School’s four members from the Midlands.
The Liverpool School has 12 members whose work is focused on the urban environment which is represented in a variety of ways, from pure abstraction to collage, screenprint, reliefs and sculpture. The movement’s aim is to use city life and buildings as its inspiration for depicting  the life and rhythms of the urban landscape. The exhibition features 80 works by eight members of the movement.
The Liverpool School’s exhibition, on The Landing at The Atkinson, is open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, 10.00am to 5.00pm until March 28. Admission to both the exhibition and the Meet The Artist event, is free.
