HIV: AN ACTIVE SOLUTION
21–27 OCTOBER 2019 AT 10.00–17.50
Join us in Tate Exchange as we explore new ways of rethinking HIV
HIV: An Active Solution will inspire new and accessible ways of rethinking HIV; its stigma, prevention and transmission. Led by artist Joseph Cotgrave, there will be a programme of creative workshops targeting LGBTQ+ youth and sexual health organisations across Merseyside, alongside a culmination of new works, a series of public discussions and an educational toolkit.
HIV: An Active Solution coincides with the UK’s first major retrospective of artist Keith Haring at Tate Liverpool.
Joseph’s art practice explores HIV and the stigma surrounding the virus through his experiences living with HIV. By turning cultural spaces into safe spaces to have discussions around issues such as HIV and mental health Joseph aims to confront stigma – provide useful and open conversations around sensitive subject matter.
