We are very pleased to announce that Harjeet Kaur from LOOK/17 has arranged for the curator of the exhibition Thomas Dukes to join us in our discussions.
He has said this about the exhibition –
“For the exhibition, Culture Shifts: Global I’ve really enjoyed working with international artists making work in Liverpool – this exchange of ideas through photography is an exhilarating area.
As curator of the Open Eye Gallery, I support people who want to use photography to tell stories. I help the organisation achieve our vision of photography being for everyone, and for photography to be meaningful, informing our lives and inspiring positive futures.
I enjoy photography that is a little off the beaten path, where someone has managed to get under the surface of an idea or subject.”
Please meet in the foyer of the Open Eye & afterwards for those interested we will be going for a coffee in a local cafe.
(If you were given a badge at April’s meeting please try & remember to bring it along with you.)
You may also be interested in this event. On Tuesday 11th April there is a launch of an exhibition in New Brighton where at least 2 of our members have work on display. This will be in the windows of the Marino Lounge on Marine Point which is the thoroughfare near Morrisons. The mayor will open the exhibition at 2pm.
The exhibition will be on for about 4 weeks.
Everyone connected with Art Club will be welcome at the launch.
