Start your weekend off right with a collage workshop with artist Catherine Rogers. In the wonderful creative surroundings of Make North Docks you will be provided with coffee, tea, biscuits, the skills and equipment to create your own analogue collages.

For this introduction to collage class Catherine, of Cut Out Collage, brings her skills and training as an artist, in addition to years of experience facilitating workshops in a variety of settings in the UK and abroad, to equip you with the skills to make analog collages in various styles.

This 3-hour session will introduce you to the practice of collage, its history, different artists and creative exercises to teach you specific techniques. As well as Catherine’s fantastic selection of source material you will have the opportunity to experiment with paints to create your own unique backgrounds and textures.

With your very own background designs, new knowledge and chosen images you will learn about image placement, be taught how to make confident compositions and how to best use equipment.

You will gain the skills and confidence to start your collage journey or experiment with new ways of working if you already cut and paste.

There is also a fantastic opportunity to collage all day by joining the Cut It Out – Collage Workshop part 2 later that same day (3pm – 6pm so you have time for lunch). A whole day of collage what’s not to love? There’s no better way to spend a Saturday!

All materials, hand sanitiser and refreshments are provided and included in your ticket price. To adhere to government guidelines regarding Covid-19, social distancing practices are in place with every attendee having their own equipment which is sanitised before the session. Staff handling food or equipment will be washing and sanitising their hands extremely regularly and ensuring that individuals are assigned to certain items to reduce the amount of contact between people. Toilets on site are also regularly cleaned and sanitised during the session to ensure safety and peace of mind.

Collage never looked so good! Join the collage revolution today.
