Create a miniature version of your own dog (or your favorite kind of dog) at Make Baltic! In this beginner/intermediate needle felting class, you’ll learn how to mould wool fibres, all while creating a needle-felted dog of your choice!

This course is an excellent compliment to our Needle Felting for Beginners, because while this course is also suitable for beginners, it involves learning different techniques for creating free-standing wool figurines. You’ll be shown step by step how to make the body, legs, tail and head, then add the some colourusing a felting needle and wool.

It is helpful to bring an image of the dog you would like to create, either printed out or on your phone, for refecence. At the end of the session, you’ll be able to take your new felted friend home with you!

Katie Jackson, the leader of this workshop, is a Yorkshire born fibre artist and printmaker and recent graduate from LJMU’s graphic design and illustration programme. She loves using traditional media to create characterful animal illustrations. The memories of growing up on her uncle’s farm greatly inspires her work to this day. It is the driving force behind all her work and the root of her passion for animals. To see more of her work, check out her website, https://www.katiejacksonillustration.com.
