Summary: Creative workshop for 14- 19 year olds Learn about Liverpool Biennial’s ‘Porosity’ entry point with The Proud Trust LGBT+ youth support.

Description: Join the Proud Trust in a workshop that will unpack how the idea of Porosity through perspectives of layering and overlapping the objects and patterns that make up our identities.Liverpool Biennial 2021, The Stomach and The Port, takes the approach of ‘Porosity’ as the fluidity between our skin and its borders. This applies to gender, place and ports, crossing boundaries that reveal these binaries and categories are imagined by a colonial lens.

Create patterns using everyday objects, on a scavenger hunt of prompts around your space, identifying how as individuals, we are changed by our interactions with others, through use of colours as concept. These creations make a link to the fabric of the LGBT+ art history, through examples such as the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt.

Join Proud Trust youth workers Hebe and Kelly to learn about the fluidity and construction of our identity and how this has been explored in LGBT+ history, as we explore the Biennial’s entry point: Porosity.
