Interwoven – ‘when local becomes global’
(weekend only)
Interwoven acknowledges that the lives of everyone across our planet are linked. Within our global environment, careless action on one continent affects the lives of others on another or indeed future generations on the same.
Eight artists from Re-view Textile have developed a dynamic range of work within the Biennial theme ‘Beautiful world where are you?’ in a variety of mediums – from felt to stitch, mixed media, weaving, crochet and video. Their work explores issues including the plastic pollution in our seas, global warming, and emotional attachment to place. A particular highlight will be a collaborative piece
‘Overwhelmed – Ocean Gyre’ incorporating beach and other plastic in a large scale whirling fabric creation.
Artists are Catherine Carmyllie, Jen Fenner, Rosey Paul, Viv Netherwood, Judith Railton, Marion Roberts, Ildiko Szabo, and Julie James-Turner
