Join us for this very special version of ‘A Lovely Word’, Liverpool’s most eclectic spoken word night.  

We’re excited to announce headliner Jade Anouka!

Jade is a poet, actor and writer. Her most recent work includes HER & HER, commissioned as part of the BBC Arts Culture in Quarantine series. Jade’s acting credits include DOCTOR WHO (BBC) and CHEWING GUM (Channel 4). Her stage credits include JULIUS CAESAR, The Donmar Warehouse; HAMLET, Shakespeare’s Globe (Ian Charleson Award Commendations for performances). In 2018, she gave a TED Talk on Being Black, being a Woman, being ‘Other’. Jade published her poetry collection EGGS ON TOAST in 2017.

WORKSHOP: If you want to build your skills in performing poetry, on the Saturday 31 October, A Lovely Word’s Alex will be running a FREE scratch session exclusively for LGBTQIA folks, giving you a chance to workshop your poem and explore your voice as a performer.
