Grrrl Power Liverpool emphasises the importance of encouraging creative women to work together. The initiative has been created in response to the problems and potential pitfalls faced by women in the arts.
The group feel women are hugely underrepresented in comparison to their male counterparts within this sector, and their aim to address this imbalance by encouraging and developing safe environments in Liverpool where women have the capacity to thrive creatively.
Friday 5th August sees the launch of the groups first exhibition alongside performances from DJ duos JELL and Faux Queens. The exhibition is curated from women artists from across the UK who responded to the brief ‘Women: where do you find yourself in the arts?’
