Handmade Books with Kate Bufton
For ages 16+
Explore the possibilities of handmade books with this one day workshop, suitable for complete beginners you will cut, fold, stitch and rubber stamp your way to create two unique books of your own.
The morning session will focus on a sewn structure whilst the afternoon will concentrate more on the folded elements behind handmade books.
The techniques and skills acquired will mean that you will never want to buy a ready-made notebook again.
Kate is a local book artist that loves creating handmade books, they are a great way to house ideas and thoughts and they can be easily personalised to suit any individual. Creating books is such an enjoyable process and it runs parallel to the sculptural side of Kate’s artistic practice.
