Informal meeting for artists hoping to be involved in IB 2025. Information on commissions, spaces and opportunities next year.
Independents Biennial is doing things differently next year. We’ll have the usual commissions, exhibition spaces, and collaborative opportunities for artists, but we also want to support existing projects and drive artist ambitions. So, starting at Convenience Gallery, we’re hosting a series of artist surgeries, asking artists with big ideas for next year, how we can help to achieve them.
Independents Biennial 2025 is happening all over Merseyside, with cultural leaders from each borough supporting artists and planning.
We’re inviting any ideas, from any artists, with anything to do with the Merseyside, or any plans that might happen here, to just come and throw them at us.
If we can, we’ll make them a reality for next year’s programme. If we can’t, we’ll keep talking, and we’ll work out what’s missing in Merseyside so that all artists have a level playing field and access to the opportunities and space that they need. If it doesn’t exist yet, maybe we’ll make it.
That’s what these surgeries are for: Working things out together.
