Collaboration: Out of the Blue, the story so far.
Out of the Blue is part of Bluecoat’s award winning participation programme which seeks to make our work as accessible as possible to individuals and communities across Liverpool and beyond.
For the past 3 years, Out of the Blue has engaged with over 200 children and families from Norris Green, Walton, Anfield, Granby, Breckfield and Kensington in community-based after school arts clubs, holiday activities, and family weekends at Bluecoat. All activities are inspired by the gallery programme at Bluecoat and seek to develop a deeper connection and understanding for children with contemporary art and cultural spaces. They also engage children and families with learning disabled adults from their communities, who are members of Bluecoat’s Blue Room project.
Join us for an exhibition celebrating the achievements of the project over the past three years. Featuring work developed by children and Blue Room in collaboration with Liverpool based artist Dave Evans, the exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the project as told in film and visual arts.
Out of the Blue has been made possible by a grant from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.
