It’s the 4th weekend in May and The Wanderin’ Library is making it’s way to Glasgow Zine Fest, for it’s furthest journey to date.
All packed with a constantly growing archive of Liverpool’s independant self-publishing scene, including zines and hand made books, and safely stashed on a direct train from Lime St.
The Wanderin’ Library is a mobile zine library created by Johanna Wilson in 2024, a bright orange trolley that intends to spark some curiosity when spotted out in ‘the wild’.
People often imagine books are the kind of things kept within the walls of a building or perhaps one lives in your back pocket, the Wanderin’ Library brings micro-published books DIY Zines into any space possible and invites the public to read and make their own.
It’s still a work in progress and likely always will be, but that’s the essence of the project, to try things and see what works and what doesn’t.
What’s great, is that the Glasgow Zine Fest attendees and the team behind the Glasgow Zine Library got to see and read a wealth of works created by people living in Liverpool and the response was so positive.
Zines are an incredible tool for sharing alternative voices and viewpoints, by getting the chance to read more zines TWL hoped that it will inspire more zine making and autonymous authorship wherever it goes.
