A Taste of Latin America – Community & Family Day at The Black-E

Join us for the finale of La Feria 2025 with A Taste of Latin America—a free family-oriented event, taking place for the first time at The Black-E, one of Liverpool’s most iconic cultural venues. This vibrant gathering invites people of all ages to enjoy an enriching day filled with music, dance, crafts, and Latin American food, brought together in a warm, welcoming environment.

Organised by Luma Creations—Liverpool’s leading Latin American arts and culture organisation—this special day is part of the wider La Feria Festival, now recognised across the North for its diverse and inclusive programming. The Community & Family Day embodies the festival’s 2025 theme: Experience, Belong, Celebrate, offering opportunities for meaningful cultural exchange and community celebration.

Attendees can enjoy an exciting line-up of live acts from both established performers and emerging community talent. This year’s programme includes the genre-blending sounds of Tocha Trio (Peru/UK/Venezuela), traditional choreography from Colibrí Mexican Folk Dance, high-energy sets by DJ Muvelo (Costa Rica), and Grupo Rikcharishpa – indigenous Kichwa Otavalo musicians from Ecuador, promising a full day of rhythm, movement, and celebration.

Latin American cuisine takes centre stage, with a variety of street food stalls showcasing both classic and modern dishes. From savoury specialities to sweet treats, there’s something to suit all palates. Meanwhile, handmade crafts and artisan goods created by Latin American traders and makers will be available to explore and purchase throughout the day.

For families and younger visitors, drop-in creative sessions and interactive activities will be available, encouraging hands-on participation and cultural discovery. The event will also highlight ongoing projects developed with community members, including performances and pieces nurtured throughout the year with Luma Creations’ support.

More than just a celebration, A Taste of Latin America provides an essential platform for Latin American individuals and families living in the region. It’s a space to come together, share experiences, and take pride in cultural identity, while also inviting the wider public to discover and enjoy the breadth and diversity of Latin American heritage.
