Second annual Summer Arts Market returns to St George’s Hall with over 100 Artists, Designers & Makers
The event is a modern arts & crafts fair which offers something for all ages and features work from over 100 artists, designers and makers.
Grade I listed St George’s Hall will be transformed into a bustling market with thousands of items for sale including intricate handmade jewellery, contemporary accessories, screen printed gig posters, original paintings, tableware, beauty products, colourful decorations, accessories, cards, textiles, photography, knitwear and more.
Shoppers can also relax and enjoy food and drink in the pop up Cuthbert’s Bakehouse Café, with many locally sourced items on offer, including healthy and hearty breakfasts, hot and cold lunches and afternoon teas to suit all appetites.
Amongst the many artists and makers will be; Claire Bates’ of Landbaby and her unique range of jewellery with a special ‘garden’ theme, Matthew Storrow’s charming screen prints,Rodger Jenkins’ locally themed paintings and the imaginative millinery creations of Sue Wood. Along with Katherine Caldwell’s beautiful illustrations that will also be on display as prints and on textiles, which make perfect gifts.
A hands on Craft Lab will be hosted by KECS Creative underneath the Grand Organ offering children of all ages the chance to make Peeping Periscopes, ideal for looking at Giant Grandmas!
Liverpool social enterprise Open Culture have organised the Winter Arts Market annually since 2009 in partnership with St George’s Hall, aiming to provide the public a chance to access affordable handmade work directly from artists and makers. In 2013 they created the annual Summer Arts Market giving the public twice yearly opportunity to access 1000’s of locally produced artwork.
