6pm for workshop, talks from 7pm
Free – book now
Future Station is a regular informal evening hosted by Metal for artists working in all disciplines and those with an interest in the arts to come together to discuss ideas, meet other artists and learn new skills. The next meeting will be themed around the idea of Documenting Process.
Come for 6pm for a practical session on ‘How to document your work‘ led by artist Jon Barraclough, covering all aspects of presenting and capturing the detail of your chosen art-form. Or join us for 7pm for our regular 3 Minute Wonder slot– 10 x 3 minute ‘open mic’ spots for artists to tell you about new ideas, existing projects, opportunities etc. This will then be followed by a presentation from our invited guest speaker Jyll Bradley, who is currently exhibiting at the Folkestone Triennial. She will be talking about her work and her interest in gardens as well as her 2008 project Mr Roscoe’s Garden which used the surviving plants from Liverpool’s world renowned botanical collection.
There will also be the opportunity to view the current exhibition ‘Botech Compositions: New Work by Macoto Murayama‘.
The Future Station meeting will end as usual with an opportunity to network, meet some lovely people and to share some delicious food. Artists, creative thinkers and anyone interested in the subjects covered are welcome to drop-by.
Entrance via platform one. Edge Hill Station, Tunnel Road, Liverpool L7 6ND.
This project is kindly supported by Arts Council England and Liverpool City Council.
