This exhibition showcases ten exquisite dresses created for the ‘Downton Abbey’ television series. Glamorous gowns worn by characters including the Dowager Countess of Grantham, Lady Mary and Lady Grantham are among those on display.
Blurring the lines between fiction and reality, the exhibition compares costumes from the screen with historic garments of the 1912-1923 period.
A number of pieces from National Museums Liverpool’s collection also feature, including two never-before displayed costumes and one outfit that previously belonged to the Liverpool lady, Mrs Tinne.
