Festival of Firsts: “First Write”

unnamed-35 July 2014

10.00

Tickets £5 per session

A day devoted to making the best of your own writing.

If you are an aspiring author, First Write is for you. The day begins with a workshop with Fiona Campbell’s session on self-publishing (it has never been so easy!). Fiona’s first children’s book Arthur and the Elephant was self published and sales are rocketing. Over a light lunch, you then have the chance to listen to David Crystal the celebrated writer, editor, lecturer, and broadcaster, who is regarded as a world expert on the future of the English Language as a global language. David   promises a lively talk about some of the choices he has had to make in his own writing and a reflection on some of the challenges. The day finishes with Susanne Christian providing tips on how to harness the knowledge and experience you have and turn it into a readable book.

First Write in collaboration with Hoylake library is also offering three free meet the author sessions.

Free Meet the author sessions at Hoylake Library are on Tuesday 6, Thursday 8 and 10 July – check Hoylake library for full details. Melrose Hall, Hoylake.
