A photographic exhibition charting the journey of dancers on the prestigious 12 Degrees North training programme is to premiere at Edge Hill University’s Arts Centre before transferring to The Lowry in Salford and the Citadel, St Helens.
The photographs were taken during various stages of dancers’ progression through the programme, which is funded by Arts Council England and specifically designed for North West dance graduates. The 12 Degrees North dance company is based at Edge Hill University and works with high profile choreographers creating new works to be toured in venues across the region such as The Lowry and Grand Theatre Blackpool.
The exhibition features photographs taken by writer and director Dr Helen Newall, Reader in Performing Arts at the University and film directed by Karen Jaundrill-Scott. The exhibition includes the documentary film Do you see what I see? featuring the dancers, their reactions to the images and their responses to a series of questions put to them by Karen Jaundrill-Scott, Project Director of 12 Degrees North and Director of External Affairs and Employability at Edge Hill.
12 Degrees North are about to embark on their Autumn tour, find out more here:Â www.12degreesnorth.org.
