The whole of the Bluecoat is set to come alive on 30 August for the return of Above the Beaten Track. The festival will be complemented by an exciting visual arts programme, open to the public now, which includes poster and flyer displays from the Bluecoat and Mellowtone not to mention the venue’s ongoing Liverpool Biennial exhibition.
Above the Beaten Track will take over the Bluecoat for a day of festivities and in addition to the bounty of live music, DJs and artists – the visual arts programme includes a Poster Display from the Bluecoat’s own archive, a Mellowtone Retrospective exhibition of flyer design and illustration, the Bluecoat’s Posters on the Stairwell exhibition,Screenadelica’s gig posters, in addition to the venue’s main galleries – currently hosting theLiverpool Biennial. Further participatory events are also taking place on the day of the festival with Draw the Line and Explore in attendance – each providing an opportunity for everyone to get involved.
