Monkeys-and-cage.jpgBritain’s only touring theatre ship sails back to Liverpool, 8-11 June

The UK’s only touring theatre ship stops off in Liverpool 8-11th June as part of a nationwide coastal tour of the British Isles between May and August 2006 with Walk the Plank’s entertaining twist on the world’s most famous nautical tale, Noah’s Ark. The ship will drop anchor in Canning Dock, Liverpool with performances daily.

The Fitzcarraldo, owned and operated by Walk the Plank for the last 14 years, is a former Norwegian cargo and passenger ferry, which has been transformed into a unique touring theatre. Her crew includes actors, technicians and stage managers as well as the Captain, Mate and Engineer. The team all live and work onboard, with the actors learning to heave ropes and scrub the decks and the Captain helping to rig lights and fly scenery.

The ship will return to Liverpool in August, to prepare for a winter programme of events on board including, cabaret & comedy nights, arts events and performances, DJ and Music gigs. The ship is also available to hire and makes a unique venue for parties, conferences and launches.
