At a press conference recently at LFC’s stadium in Anfield, playwright, John Graham Davies and actor Paul Duckworth (Brookside, Backbeat), came together to announce the premiere of ‘Beating Berlusconi’, a new play written by John Graham Davies being premiered on Thursday 7th May at the WoW Festival.
Also pictured (below) is LFC fan Mark Radley, whose incredible personal story of his encounter with Italian Prime Minister and owner of AC Milan, Silvio Berlusconi, was the inspiration for ‘Beating Berlusconi.
Drawing on this true story, when Liverpool FC fan, Mark Radley, who went to the legendary Istanbul final in 2005, and somehow got into the AC Milan director’s box and then almost had a fight with the Italian PM when the Reds equalised, Beating Berlusconi is the hilarious story of one man’s attempt to rediscover his belief in himself, his club, his city and his class.
‘A real page turner – you’ve captured the city.’ Jimmy McGovern
