Just another day in Liverpool. Only a few hours earlier at this spot there had been 200,000 people chasing a 50ft spider down to the Mersey Tunnel now there’s 70 Superlambananas all lined up on St George’s Hall plateau. A last chance for people to have look and take more photos before they’re all auctioned off on Tuesday evening.
The Lord Mayor was there today, maybe he’s going to bid for one to keep in the mayor’s office.
The Superlambananas return to Liverpool for two days only in their very own thank you to the people of Liverpool for the phenomenal welcome they were given during the incredibly successful Go Superlambananas event.
The area will be open to public viewing Monday from 12 noon until 8pm, then from 9am until 8pm on Tuesday, after which they will go under the hammer at the Lord Mayor’s Charity auction that evening. 75% of the proceeds will go to local charities.
Go Superlambananas is organised by Wild in Art and was originally commissioned by the Liverpool Culture Company for the European Capital of Culture
