Now in it’s 6th year, the Wirral Open Studio Tour is back once again after a very successful event in 2014.
Over the weekend, professional and semi-professional artists open their studios, homes and creative workspaces for the public to view their work. Part of the enjoyment of the tour is discovering the different environments artists use as work spaces, which range from purpose built studios, rooms within artist’s homes, and sheds in gardens. Artists will also be exhibiting in community halls and also the Williamson Art Gallery, a new venue for the tour.
This year 45 artists will take part, in 30 different venues. Artists include glass artists sculptors, textile artists, potters, jewelers and photographers as well as painters and graphic artists so we hope there will be something to interest every art lover and you may even discover some hidden local talent or a neighbour who you had no idea was an artist.
Look out for our colourful brochure containing all artists details and studio locations which you’ll find in libraries, community centres cafes and other public places. Each location will also have an identifying marker; a windsock, banner or bunting to help you locate venues more easily.
