A unique ‘happening’ to be held at the Rathbone Studio will feature two very different artists who are worlds apart in style and influences.
Creating their own artwork ‘live’ in the Studio, Leanne Hughes who is inspired by words, is asking visitors to give her words that she will then use to create her artwork. Leanne has painted many pieces using this method but up to now only with words posted on her Facebook page.
Tom Allport, artist and poet, works completely from the ideas in his head and often has no idea what the final piece will be, will also paint a picture for all to see.
Janet Holmes, gallery owner and potter said “This is such an interesting event, basically looking at how artists find their inspiration and translate into what they create. I have seen so many people in pottery create such varied work by using the basic techniques and this event show how two very different artists conjure their work out of the air, a real insight into how art comes alive”.
What happens on the day will be tweeted as it happens.
