Culturepool Events – May / June 09

News from Culturepool…

Beating Berlusconi last week was so fabulous that we’re going to go and see it AGAIN, a culturepool first! The fantastic script by John Graham Davies along with the stunning performance by Paul Duckworth (you will be blown away) makes for an amazing production that we just couldn’t miss out on giving the rest of the group a chance to see it. Email us at info@culturepool.org.uk or call us on 0151 236 0796 to reserve your £7 ticket (normally £13.50) for the beautiful St George’s Hall on Monday 8th June, 7.30pm. We need your name, contact number and the number of tickets you need to reserve. You can pay cash on the door on the night. Highly recommended!!

So what about May? We’re so thrilled to tell you about our next event …

Yorgos Karamalegos and Elinor Randle from Tmesis Theatre (formerly Momentum Theatre) are culturepool regulars. We’ve seen them perform more than any other company and the reason is simple. Their nationally and internationally acclaimed performances are unique and mesmerising.

We’ve followed them since Momento Mori in 2006, and we seen them again in Anima in 2008 for the second and third pieces of the trilogy. We’re so excited and I’m sure you regulars out there will be happy to hear we are joining Eli and Yorgos for Tmesis, the first piece of their trilogy, which was originally performed in 2003.

Tmesis combines striking visuals, acrobatics, movement and music in this beautiful ancient Greek story of the origin of love and the reason why we search for our other half. Six years after their first performance they’re returning to The Unity Theatre on Thursday 28th May @ 8pm.

Winner of Best New Show 2003, Annual Daily Post Key Awards.  “Totally mesmerising…”

We’re really looking forward to joining Eli and Yorgos again for a drink and a chat after their performance, which is guaranteed to be at highest quality. Not to be missed!

Tickets can be bought from the Unity Theatre by calling the ticket office on 0151 709 4988, emailing tickets@unitytheatre.co.uk, texting 0784065 98 07 or dropping in. Please quote ‘culturepool’ to receive your £6 ticket(s) (Full price £10).

Note – there is no numbered seat allocation at Unity, please turn up early if you want to sit with friends! We’ll meeting in the first floor bar at 7.30pm. See you there!

ALSO

If you made along to the launch night of Organic Cherry in March, you will have seen Rob Reeves ‘The Ass Code’, a comedy play poking a bit of fun at the Da Vinci Code, which had the audience doubled over in laughter.

So much so there’s now a second opportunity to see the play in FACT’s Gallery 1 on Saturday 23rd May 2009 at 7:30pm.

This short play is free and could be the perfect start to your Saturday night out.

Entry is free. Just turn up on Saturday 23rd before 7.30pm for a great bit of comedy theatre.

Cheers, Vinny & Luan
