Biennial – Touched Talks Series Announced

In the run up to its launch on 18 September 2010, Liverpool Biennial has invited prominent artists and thinkers to explore TOUCHED, the theme of Liverpool Biennial’s International exhibition 2010.

Paul Domela, Programme Director says, “Art that is ‘touched’ engages our emotions. Our senses and thought processes are disrupted making change possible in our intellectual perspective, behaviour and relation to the world and affecting how our emotions are engaged. Touched Talks aims to build a vocabulary with which to understand these processes. Here we also begin to answer one of the key questions of our time, which is to understand how we are implicated in the events of the world of which we are a part. And assume our responsibility. “

The first four speakers taking part in Touched Talks are academics Steven Connor (17 Feb) at the LJMU Art & Design Academy and Alphonso Lingis (23 March) at the Bluecoat and artists Lynn Hershman (21 April) at LJMU Art & Design Academy and Coco Fusco (26 May) at the Bluecoat.

Tickets for the talks are FREE and can be booked here.
