We had a very pleasant afternoon on the Wirral today but didn’t manage to see even half of the studios which were open to the public, it takes longer than you may think to have a look round, chat to the artists, accept or decline the offers of tea, cakes etc. and admire the views.

In Hoylake’s Melrose Hall we saw four artists including Robert Jackson who was demonstrating Chinese painting and Hayley Gateley who was working on a new acrylic painting.

The whole event is organised mainly by Micheline Robinson (Artists in our Midst) whose own home and studio were covered with her excellent paintings whist across the road we saw more paintings including some very good portraits by Oke Ugonna.

Then on Hoylake Parade we could see how the sea view from Xitina Ferres doorstep has influenced her art.

There were so many other places we’d like to have seen but time was against us, we’ll just have to return for more next year.
