Up for Arts

up-for-2

upforarts-logo-150We called into Radio Merseyside on Saturday to have a look at the Up For Arts activities. It was busy, people making things from clay, origami, felt, woodturning etc.

All looked very good with plenty of information available about arty things happening in the city.

The woodturning lathe was very popular and that will be there again on Sunday along with a lot of other crafts and artists including the Draw the Line people and some printmakers.

On Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st January 2010 between 11.00 and 16.00, Up For Arts would like to invite you to a free fun filled weekend of arts and crafts for adults at BBC Radio Merseyside’s Performance Space, Hanover Street, Liverpool.

The weekend of arts and crafts tasters is an exciting part of the Up For Arts project; a collaborative venture between Voluntary Arts England and BBC Radio Merseyside which celebrates arts and creativity across the whole of Liverpool.

Sunday 31st January:

Get your hands inky with Liverpool printmakers

Start that winter blanket you’ve been dreaming of or make a pretty corsage with Liverpool crochet group, Purlesque.

Enjoy a casual scribble with ‘Draw the line’, a growing social creative Liverpool group who welcome you to doodle!  A lovely small group who put on social events for all, come and join their square pen round hole project.

A second chance to get turning that wood and take your turn on the lathe.

On both days, there will be an information point offering more details on arts and crafts groups, classes and events running across the whole of Merseyside.

For more information call the A-team on 0151 794 0984 or email ateam@bbc.co.uk
