Lovely atmosphere at the Royal Standard last night with the warm, sunny evening there were far more people standing outside than in until the band ‘Grubby Mitts’ started to produce many strange and wonderful sounds.
And the artwork is pretty good too. Curated by Harry Lawson, Claudia Lastra and Lucy MacDonald who have put in a lot of effort to produce a quality show and accompanying events – even going as far as restructuring the gallery space.
Print works by pioneering figures such as Robert Motherwell, Claes Oldenburg and John Salt, are featured alongside multidisciplinary artworks by contemporary artists; Ilana Halperin, Celia Hempton, Claire Greenshaw, Bobby Niven, Laura Shimmin and newly commissioned site-specific works by Sovay Berriman and Tomas Chaffe.
