A very busy weekend for arts & crafts markets with a Christmas theme. We got round quite a few in the city centre, despite the awful weather it’s much more fun than shopping online.
We started at The Bridewell where Peter Betts was playing festive tunes on the tuba and the real fires were blazing in the studios and gallery. Then we had a look in at the Clove Hitch on Hope Street and Mello Mello on Slater street – both quite small but nice friendly events.
The LOACA markets which used to be in the Bluecoat courtyard are now held in the new Leaf Tea Shop & Bar on Bold St, there’ll be a second one there next Saturday 11 December.
Then on Sunday we enjoyed the Hope Street Christmas Fayre based at Blackburne House and the Kazimier Yuletide white elephant bazaar. We didn’t see a white elephant but there was a polar bear.
