‘Still’ Nathan Pendlebury at The Lauries Centre, Birkenhead
25 May – 20 July 2009
A new solo exhibition by award winning artist Nathan Pendlebury of abstract photography and painting. At the newly extended exhbition space at the Lauries atrium ground floor and 1st floor balcony spaces. Curated by Simon Mack.
The Lauries is a very nice new Community Centre in Birkenhead town centre. Its “a self sustaining social enterprise built in 2005, consisting of function suites & conference rooms. We also accomodate flagship organisations, such as Sure Start, Age Concern, Wirral PCT and Wirral Change. Also included in the centre is a quality cafe and a members bar
You enter via the cafe and its here that Simon Mack has been curating exhibitions including this latest one of Nathan Pendlebury’s abstracts and photographs. Its not an easy space as its a cafe and reception with the staircase taking up another corner but Simon’s making the best of it and of course the place benefits from having all this good art on the walls. We had nice Veggie breakfast too served by very helpful staff.
