There’s always an excellent selection of contemporary art at View Two Gallery in Mathew Street. I called in on Saturday to catch up with the latest. At present on the top floor which is now all abstracts, there are several pieces by James Cummins who is Liverpool-born but Berlin-based and also exhibiting in Gothenberg. Some of the pictures are quite dark and have a gritty texture (don’t know why how he does it (see comments for the answer)).
There are also more of Lisa Cole Kronenberg’s large moody abstracted skyscapes and of course several other artists on the 3 floors of the gallery.
From November 16th there will be joint exhibition by local artist Anthony Brown and photographer Jim Connolly which should be good.
