A fascinating exhibition at 3345 Parr Street which takes me back to my youth in the 1960’s – mostly 1967. ‘A Journey into Vision & Sound’ features photographs of works by Dudley Edwards, some of them created with Douglas Binder. Now my tastes are more minimalist but back then the brightly coloured walls, furniture, pianos, cars etc. looked so original and fresh. I like the pictures of the Kinks and the Who sitting in the same painted car – at different times.

RedHouse Originals is delighted to introduce A Journey Into Vision & SoundÂ’; an exhibition celebrating the of the work of pioneering Pop Artist Dudley Edwards.
Edwards first came to prominence as co-founder of ground-breaking Pop collective BEV and his work with the group would go on to define the era.
During the mid to late 1960s BEVÂ’s psychedelic murals appeared everywhere from the boutiques of Kings Road and Carnaby Street to Paul McCartneyÂ’’s ‘Magic PianoÂ’ and their collaborations with artists including The Beatles and Pink Floyd are the stuff of legend.

BEV were also renowned for their seminal light shows, the like of which had never been seen on these shores. In 1967 they staged ‘The Million Volt Light & Sound Rave’ at London’s Roundhouse which featured the only known public airing of the legendary Carnival Of Light recording; an experimental sound collage created for the occasion by Paul McCartney and John Lennon during the early stages of the Sgt.Pepper sessions.
