Beatles at Academy of Arts

At least during August its easy to find the Liverpool Academy of Arts, just follow the AA signs.

This annual exhibition of Beatles art entitled ‘Come Together‘ is still as popular as ever with a huge number of visitors trekking across the surrounding building sites to view the show and even buying quite a lot of it too.

Its not art by the Beatles, of course, its an eclectic mixture of drawings, paintings, sculptures, clothing and memorabilia from professional and amateur artists of or about the Fab Four or in some cases just loosely linked to the title of a Beatles song.

I think the overall quality of the show is better this year than in recent times and it is helped by having the room to breath in this old paint warehouse that the gallery are currently using (though the leaking roof seems to get worse each time I call in.

Also, if you are a bit daft like me and Mrs J, you can picture yourselves in Sgt. Pepper’s outfits.
