Art auction to help diabetes charity
WHEN local artist Pat Winnington’s diabetes meant that she had to leave her home, she realised she would also have to part with her artwork.
But Pat did not let this get her down. Instead she saw it as the perfect opportunity to raise some cash for the Diabetes Society UK.
So, Warrington Museum and Art Gallery and The Gallery at Bank Quay House, have teamed up to present an exhibition and charity auction of her original artwork.
There will over 30 pieces on show which will go up for auction, with all the money raised going to the Diabetes Society UK.
Pat’s work includes paintings of Warrington, and its surrounding areas, in both oil and watercolour and you’ll have chance to purchase these knowing all the money will go to a good cause.
The exhibition opens 11 October at The Gallery at Bank Quay House (opposite the Golden Gates) and is free to visit. The auction takes place on Thursday 21 October at 6pm.
If you are unable to attend the auction, the gallery will accept silent bids prior to the event. Place you bid in the box and if it is the highest on the evening the gallery will notify you and arrange collection of your newly purchased painting.
Doors open at 6pm with the auction starting shortly afterwards.
