… and beautiful it is too despite the fact that its not real grass and flowers, its actually made from rubbish. Its been made by children from several local schools under the guidance of the artist Ticky Lowe and the good people at the National Wildflower Centre in Knowsley.
There is a small meadow in the atrium area of the World Museum Liverpool and a much larger one on the 3rd floor amongst the ancient Romans. Its very bright and pretty and made out of recycled materials such as plastic milk cartons, shopping bags, hoses etc.
Meadow highlights issues around litter, waste reduction and recycling through creative engagement.
There will be opportunities for people to make more flowers at various green fayres, flowers shows etc. through the summer and the meadow is designed to be portable so it can go on tour later in the year.
It will be at the Museum until August 16th 2006.
