There’s loads happening in Liverpool but I like to pop over to Mancs every so often.
At the end of this Month the British Art Show 6 opens in various venues form Jan 28th to April 2nd 2006, there’s a few Liverpool artists involved in that.
Also opening on Jan 27th, I see there’s some of our artists in the Wellington Mill Collective Art Exhibition, here’s details…
‘Collective’ is a site specific art exhibition taking place in the Wellington Mill, Ancoats, Manchester featuring 8 emerging and established British based artists from contrasting disciplines. The exhibition will run from 27th January to 1st February 2006 and will be followed by a limited edition catalogue.
Each artist from sound to sculpture to performance art will create new work within the interior of the textile mill in response to the history and background of the derelict mill. Lasting for only seven days; the history of the Wellington Mill will exist within contemporary eyes, evoking a sense of loss and nostalgia within an abandoned space, momentarily installed; to produce a visual, conceptual and enthralling original exhibition.
The artists are:
Bryony Bond, Manchester, Tony Knox, Liverpool, Hermanti Chauhan, Birmingham, John Deller, London, Jo Harrison, Manchester, Gaynor Sweeney, Liverpool, Thomas C McCormack, Sheffield, Ailis Ni Rian, Manchester.
Produced by Tilfeldig Productions and Rant Magazine, Collective comes with support from Levi’s, Arts Council, Don’t Panic Media, Awards For All, Supply UK hire shops and Cusquena premium beer.
From guerrilla marketing through to the canvas made invites; Tilfeldig Productions maintains to produce unique, thought provoking and cutting edge exhibitions. 600 limited edition catalogues, will be available to purchase in places such as Collette in Paris, Cornerhouse Bookshop in Manchester, Here Gallery in Bristol and any decent law abiding art gallery, through Rant Magazine.
