National Museums Liverpool collaborates with immersive creative studio Draw & Code to bring a unique experience like no other

National Museums Liverpool is collaborating with immersive experience studio Draw & Code to bring a stimulating gallery experience to visitors, which will augment the connection to museum objects and the overall experience. We want to delve deeper into the stories of the objects – the behind the scenes and to learn more about the collections. We want to tell the story of our collections in an unusual way. To do this, we need your help.

Do you have a favourite object or collection? What would you like to know more about? Are there any secrets or covert stories you know about our collections? We want to hear stories from our visitors that will help bring these hidden gems into the public eye, and to entice our curious minds.

David Watson, Executive Director of Audiences and Media says: “We’re delighted to once again be working with Draw & Code on this extremely exciting project! This is about adding an additional layer to our incredible collections and finding new ways with technology that will allow people to interact with and learn about them. We want our visitors to be a part of this journey with us.”

World Museum worked with Draw & Code during the 2018 exhibition China’s First Emperor and the Terracotta Warriors – an exhibition that displayed more than 180 artefacts and integrated several immersive techniques to surprise and delight visitors. Using their expertise and bespoke approach to storytelling, Draw & Code will work with National Museums Liverpool to uncover personal tales, reveal inspiring anecdotes, and amplify powerful objects – starting with tales from World Museum.

Andy Cooper, Director of Draw & Code says: “We’re thrilled to work with National Museums Liverpool again, delving into the wonders and mysteries of their collections to develop an unparalleled immersive experience. Through the stories we craft, and technology we use, we hope to make the ideas come alive to surprise and delight. We’re very excited to hear the visitors’ tales!”

In combining these different disciplines, we hope to develop something unique that audiences of all ages can enjoy and learn from. We hope to use the invaluable content from our visitors to drive this project, and to reveal untold stories.
