There’s another big ship visiting for a few days and its open to the public.
Fly Navy 100: October 23– 26 2009
The fleet flag ship HMS Illustrious will berth alongside Liverpool Cruise Terminal as part of a unique and exciting event to celebrate 100 years of the fleet air arm within the Royal Navy. A Royal Navy ‘village’ contining helicopters, simulators and promotional marquees will be open to the public on the Pier Head as well as various events throughout her visit such as the Royal Marines Band performing on the flight deck. The Ship will be open to the public on 25 & 26 October before she departs on October 27. The event timetable is listed below:
