Art Clubs in April

Thanks to all who came to Art Club on Sunday, we had a great time discussing 3 Victorian narrative paintings. We found the discussion educational, friendly, informative and  interesting and our knowledge of the art works increased.

Shelagh and Andy would like to remind everyone we have 2 Art Clubs in April
The first is in the Bluecoat on Sunday 7th April, starting at 2, when we will be discussing the Michael Leckey curated show ‘The Universal Addressability of Dumb Things’. We would encourage you to view the exhibition first if you can or come early to have a look round as there is a lot to see and take in. Also Mark Leckey refers in the introduction of the catalogue to a lecture he gave called ‘In the Long Tail’. If anyone is able to watch that it would be helpful but not essential – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oi4NLXHWtHI
The second as an extra Art Club when we will meet the artist Jon Barraclough. This will take place in the library of the Bluecoat on Sunday 21st April starting at 2. We will have a chance to look at some of Jon’s pictures that have never been shown publicly before. This will be followed by a discussion. To find out more about Jon visit his website – http://www.jonbarraclough.co.uk/
This promises to be a special Art Club and will hopefully lead to many more additional Art Club meetings.
The May club will meet on Sunday May 5th at 2pm. At the last art club meeting we had 3 people suggesting we meet in the Lady Lever in Port Sunlight so our plan is to meet there. However this is to be confirmed.
