“An Evening Of Hope”, Charity Concert: Marti Pellow and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra

In a one-off Liverpool performance, Wet Wet Wet frontman and solo artist Marti Pellow will be joined by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra for ‘An Evening of Hope’ in memory of Hope Kenwright.

Marti and a team of leading musicians have imaginatively re-orchestrated some of musical theatre’s best loved classics, along with some much loved Marti favourites, to create an evening of pure musicality. Marti will be joined by our very own world-class orchestra in a special Liverpool gala performance at Philharmonic Hall on 22 April 2013.

The concert and Pellow’s  new album ‘Hope’ are dedicated to Hope Kenwright 1918-2012.

Marti Pellow said: “When I first met her I knew I was meeting someone very special, the clue was in her name – Hope.”

The award-winning Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra is the UK’s oldest surviving professional symphony orchestra and has been at the heart of Liverpool’s cultural life since 1840.  The Orchestra gives approximately 70 concerts each season (September – June) in its home, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, as well as concerts in venues across the city, including Liverpool’s two cathedrals.

Fiachra Trench, one of Ireland’s top composers and arrangers will conduct.  Having collaborated with musicians including Wet Wet Wet, Paul Brady, Elvis Costello, Sinéad O’Connor, Phil Lynott, Declan O’Rourke and Carmel McCreagh, he has also worked with film composing legends including Hans Zimmer on films such as ‘The House of the Spirits’, ‘The Ring’ and ‘Beyond Rangoon’.

This is Marti Pellow as you’ve never heard him before. This is ‘Hope’.  Especially for Liverpool.
