The Amorous Cat Gallery opened at 47, Lark Lane, Liverpool L17 8UW on November 8th. This is a permanent project involving the work of the following artists/practitioners: Alex Corina ( paintings and prints
relating to Liverpool and Sefton Park); Linda Mooney (fairly traditional water colours); Peter Appleton (oils and prints); Freya Levy (mosaics and cards); Mark Harrison (cartoon art); Simon Banks (photo-montage); Clare Flinn (prints and oil paintings) and Jan Sear (material relating to the River Mersey and Cammell Laird’s shipyard).
Each artist will display for a period of three months and rotate with a further seven or eight people after this period has elapsed.
The building houses four studios/workshops and the following events have already been mooted so that we, hopefully, can evolve as an essentially local hub for visual art: individual exhibitions in a space on the first floor; and exhibition of the work of children and young people from the Greenhouse project in Lodge Lane, Liverpool 8; and a series of workshops and talks/discussions concerning artists or various methodologies and skills such as water colour painting, print-making etc.
Our opening hours are: Wednesday to Sunday (10:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.)
