Williamson Art Gallery & Museum: Metal Clay Workshop
Venue: Williamson Art Gallery & Museum
Times: 10:30 - 13:30
BRITTANY KEFIRA OF NOCTUA RETURNS FOR ANOTHER OF HER POPULAR JEWELLERY MAKING WORKSHOPS WITH THE WILLIAMSON ART GALLERY THIS TIME WORKING WITH SILVER CLAY.
Create multiple pieces of jewellery in a full day workshop. Participants will create moulds of natural items such as small flowers, shells, stones, see pods and leaves which will then be used to create a copy of your chosen objects. You’ll be able to take all of your moulds away at the end of the day.
On the day, you will learn how to form the clay into jewellery, dry the clay and then fire with a blowtorch and polish your pieces. Silver clay looks and feels just like ordinary clay, however it is packed with very fine silver particles mixed with a non toxic organic binder.
You will be supplied with 10g of metal clay and if your charms and pendants aren’t too big, this should be enough to create around 3 silver charms. Additional clay can be purchased on the day.
Noctua will provide a range of shells, leaves, flowers and other things which can be used for mould making or impressions but feel free to bring along your own items too.
Where : The Williamson Art Gallery
When : 12th of August, 10.30am until 1.30pm
Cost : £95 per person
